Steam modes or a targeted burst? Choose the control you need
A useful control solves a recurring cleaning task.

Check that the floor permits steam, then choose modes and pad types around the messes you actually clean.
Start with the floor care instructions
Identify the floor and its finish before choosing a steamer. Find the flooring maker’s current care instructions and check whether steam is permitted. The appliance description of sealed hard floors is not a substitute for that product-specific permission, particularly where a finish, joint or installation method changes the care requirements.
If the two sets of instructions do not agree, stop that comparison and use an appropriate permitted method. Choosing a lower steam setting does not make an otherwise unsuitable surface compatible. A useful purchase begins with the room it can actually serve, not the largest list of surfaces in an advertisement.
Separate ordinary passes from a stubborn spot
List the messes you repeatedly clean. Everyday dust and loose crumbs first need an appropriate dry-cleaning step; this is a pad-based steam mop without suction. Distinguish that preparation from working on a compatible area with a stuck-on mark. Different tasks can call for different tools or steps.
The selected S2001 supplies Light, Normal and Deep modes plus a finger-controlled Steam Blaster. That gives you several controls for a permitted floor routine. It does not establish that every mark should receive the strongest setting or a prolonged burst, so follow the current model procedure rather than inventing a universal treatment time.

Choose the pad for the permitted task
The selected package lists one Dirt Grip pad and one Scrub pad. Those are different pad types, not a pair of powered rotating discs. Check the exact instructions for their intended use and attachment before treating the coarser-looking option as appropriate for every surface.
Plan where clean replacement pads will be kept while a used one is being laundered and dried. A washable pad is a reusable consumable, not a part that stays clean automatically. Your actual cleaning area and mess level determine whether the supplied kit gives you enough flexibility between washing cycles.
Plan refilling and access across rooms
A removable tank can simplify the route to the sink, but the complete job still includes filling, fitting the cap, routing the cord and reaching the planned rooms. Map the outlets and obstacles rather than assuming a light upright body makes every corner convenient.
Keep water choice, tank contents and handling within the current instructions. A water-only cleaning description does not invite adding a preferred household cleaner to the tank. When changing or servicing parts, follow the specified unplugging and cooling procedure rather than handling a hot unit like an ordinary dry mop.
Decide whether the added controls earn their place
SteamSpot leads our shortlist for a balanced control package at a moderate selected price. It makes sense when different ordinary tasks would use the modes and the targeted burst. A more basic manual-pump model can still be the better personal fit when those controls would rarely be used.
Compare it with powered-pad models only after defining the job. Rotating movement, targeted steam and vacuum suction are three different features. None can be inferred from another. Choose the mechanism that addresses the actual difficulty and include pad upkeep and floor compatibility in the decision.
